The size of Tabacco Ire: 6 3/8" Long x 2" Wide x 7/8" Thick. Very unuusal Japanese Tabacco Ire set. The pipe holding case made of Bamboo work with clasp made with tin plated on brass. Bamboo work done well weaving. Tabacco case made by silk brocde. It has brass part. The condition of Tabacco Ire, very good except some wear on back of string area and a couple of other place. It is a very auspicious pine, bamboo, plum and crane, turtle design.
There is a faint fading part, but overall it is in very good condition.
On the far right is the name and date of the orderer for this noren. There is a family crest of the house.
This noren has 12 panels sewn together. Size::Vertical length:170cm (66.9inch) / Widt:398cm (156.6inch)

An antique vertical wall hanging made of velvet, partially cut and painted with ink and colors. Beautiful depiction of a watermill in a grove with two peasants. Original brocade border and printed cotton lining with hanging loops. Signed and sealed in the lower left corner. Condition: fine, scarce stained, partially faded, few traces of age. Dimension with border: c. 198 cm x 146 cm.

EUR €4,500.00 A Japanese fascinating embroidered silk hanging tapestry depicting a flying Phoenix 鳳凰 and a Kirin 麒麟, the two most powerful and sacred beasts of all Japanese within a silk frame finely decorated with a dense pattern of stylized motifs.
The central scene is very unusual and it represents a Phoenix in flight in the upper part and a Kirin looking at each other.

Sold. Thank you. Cotton cloth, called "yu-age”, which is used for a newborn baby. It is ordered by parents of a mother as a congratulatory gift. It has tsutsugaki auspicious motifs, such as a crane, a turtle, pine tree, plum blooms and bamboos. Red part in the top corner is for wiping baby's face, because red color is thought to be good for baby's eyes. It is from Izumo region in Shimane prefecture. $1,500.00 Futonji with tsutsugaki (glue resist dye by free hand) made of hand spun cotton. It has traditional "Karajishi-Botan", imaginary lion and peony motif. The green ground cloth is dyed with vegetable indigo and natural yellow, the painting is colored with pigments. It is remade to futonji from originally yogi, which is a futon in the shape of kimono. The tsutsugaki technique is excellent and in excellent condition. Meiji period (1868~1912).
