SOLD An interesting all original Japanese ikebana (flower arrangement) basket with a wide, flat woven body and a gnarled root handle. The inside of the basket is lined with a removable bronze dish. True work of art.

SOLD Exquisite Antique Japanese pair of large garden lanterns. Each is made of cast iron in 10 sections. The roof of each has raised writing, the lantern portions are decorated with kiri blossoms. The pedestals are coiled around with dragons in low relief, the base of each has high relief fu-dogs. Very difficult to collect.

Sold, with thanks! A fabulous Koro covered in damascened gold by Ibuse Keisuke enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nunome Zogan Jungin Koro (Damascene Pure Silver Incense Burner). It is 11 cm (4-1/2 inches) tall, 9.5 cm (3-3/4 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.

$1,800.00 Cast iron teapot. Very deep decoration. Nice quality of cast iron. Unusual interesting decoration, meticulous details (fineness of the dragon ties of the handle). Signed in relief on the back and under the lid. Difficult to date. Meiji or Edo ? only the translation of the signature could tell us the artist and the period. The handle inlaid with plants in silver.
Good condition.

$700.00 Large cast iron teapot. Very elegant decoration of Mon and stylized flowers. Seems very old to me perhaps ealier than Edo. Datation of iron is difficult. The bottom is broken and glued with resin. It is not usable for tea anymore.

$250.00 TO MIYOSHI SHRINE FROM YAMATO SUE The letters made of copper plates originally attached to a votive wooden tablet dedicated from its worshipper named Yamato Sue to the Miyoshi-jinja shrine in Akita prefecture. Meiji period (1868-1912). Letter of Kami (God): approx. 11 x 13cm (4.33 x 5.11in). Besides, as seen the last three photos, changeable to "God of Clay", "Eros", and "Excellent luck" by free anagram arrangement... One made of silver alloy in the "bira-bira" style, showing a blossom with tiny coral beads forming the center and attached butterflies. The second one is a "tama" kanzashi with pierced mixed metal ball showing floral decoration. Both ending in a mimikaki (ear spoon). Condition: the first one with missing butterflies. The second one with minimally bent prongs and little wear. Dimension: 17 cm and 16 cm long.

The brass basin is supported by a withering round stem convoluting beneath. A bright portion of brass hammered out with holes show the leaf slowly deteriorating, returning to earth.
