Oriental Treasure Box
Price on Request Japanese mid 20th century pure silver pair of cranes and bronze tortoise on large bronze base. The base is done as a small rocky hill with bamboo growing. Done in a wonderful design with great detail. Each crane is marked JUNGIN, or pure silver. The base is signed KATSUNORI, in back. The entire piece measures 22" wide, 18" tall and 14" deep.

Sold, Thank you! Hand formed copper vase with waves in annealed silver signed on the side and enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the 1950s. It is 20 x 15 x 21 cm (8 x 6 x 8 inches) and in excellent condition.

Beneath which is pine tree set upon a rocky shoreline washed by seigaiha; a wave pattern symbolizing eternal peace and happiness. The design overall connoting a wish for Peace and Harmony.

Rare and elegant decoration in relief, in the center the "Mon" of the Tori-O clan of Yamaguchi in Suwo, surrounded by scrolls of flowers and stylized clouds mixed with Ginkgo Biloba leaves. A cigarette case made of iron, partially damascened in different golds and silver, inspired by the famous sculpture of the American artist James Earle Fraser (1876-1953) "End of the Trail", which he designed in the late 19th C. The interior with the Otojiro's mark with dragonfly. Condition: traces of usage, two tiny retouches, tiny scratches, elastic band tired, not perfectly closing, interior with left below corner slightly corroded (last photo). Dimension closed: c. 8.6 x 8.1 cm.
