Old (1940's) Japanese Silver Enamel Brooch with Flower Marked VM Miyamoto 宮本

It is 1.8 inches (4.5 cm) in length by 1.8 inches (4.5 cm) wide. It is 17.8 gram.

It is tarnished and has minor loss enamel, hairline cracks and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

This pair of vases was recovered from an estate in the Castroville/Watsonville area of California, over 20 years ago. This area is known as the Artichoke Capital of the world. When I recovered these vases they had been lamps and have since had the bottom drills hole restored. These vases are old but probably not Meiji era. They do have silver rims with scalloped wire trim at the edges of the enamel. The colors and shading are wonderful...

This is a beautiful piece in great condition. Frame measures 18 by 13 12 inches. The plaque raises from the edges and is thick in he middle. It measures about 5 by 9 1/2 inches. Frame might be Mahogany.

This is a nicely done vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase with two Angelfish. The work is both silver wire and wireless. It's a heavy stout piece with no signature. It measures 6 1/4 inches by 6 1/4 inches. Over the years, we haven't seen many Angelfish vases.

This is an exquisite example of Japanese Cloisonne mounted on a silver-plated form. As the images show, The wire and wireless enameling are superb. Condition is also outstanding. It stands 8 inches tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide. We never seen another like this one.

Old (1940's) Japanese Burgundy Color Plique a Jour Cloisonne Enamel Vase with Flowers Marked "Yamamoto Cloisonne" CPO

It is 3.54 inches (9 cm) tall by 2.36 inches (6 cm) wide. It is 101 gram.

It is painted some sort of shellac at the inside. The shellac has since cracks and faded and that is why it has a crazing and dripping look. It has tarnished metal, minor missing enamels, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

Japanese cloisonne vase decorated with two cattleya orchids set against a green ground. The interior counter enamel is black and the rims are chrome. The Ando Cloisonne Company seal is on the base rim. Measures 8 1/2" high x 4" diameter at the mouth. Dates from the Showa period (mid-20th century). Very good overall condition.

Flames of red flash form the bird resurrected on the side of this large Cloisonne vase by the Ando company of Nagoya; Japan’s premier cloisonne studio. The color is hard to describe, seeming to be lit from within. A combination of wire and wireless design using gold wire with silver rim. Ando mark on base, the vase measures 37 cm (14-1/2 inches) tall, 32 cm (12-1/2 inches) diameter and is in excellent condition. It comes enclosed in a fine, custom made kiri-wood box.

This is an attractive vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase. It is much like another piece we currently have listed but of higher quality. It may be from Ando. The wireless enamel work on the mountain and clouds is very good. Except in the foreground, the enamel colors are soft pastel tones of gray/blue. It just under 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. There is a minor dent to bottom rim that can not be seen when on display. otherwise the condition is outstanding.

Japanese plique-a-jour cloisonne enamel vase densely decorated with a bouquet of flowers set against a celadon green background. Chrome rims. Dates from the Occupation period (1945-1960). Measures about 3 3/4"H x 3" diameter. Very good overall condition. There is a faint interior stress crack at the shoulder that cannot be felt (see enlargements 6 and 7). The neck is very slightly tilted.

Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Vase. Showa period, circa 1930-1950. The body of the vase is red with a pink chrysanthemum amongst white peonies with a green orchid. The red color, known as akasuke, is difficult to produce. Only the most skilled artisans can create the rich ruby red color and the transparent element where the motif on the vase shows through the glaze. Excellent condition, no scratches or dents. This is a very attractive Cloisonne jewelry chest from Inaba. It is a vintage piece, but still there a lot of work that went into this jewelry chest. It is decorated all over. There are two working drawers and both sides of the doors are also decorated. In the bottom area is a wind-up musical mechanism, that does work. The Phoenix Bird decoration on the top is very nicely done. The box is very heavy and it measures 7 1/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep...

This is a very colorful Japanese Plique-a-Jour cloisonne vase. The colors used are a little different than most and contrast beautifully.(See images) Condition is very good. But when held up to bright light a line can be seen. It does not show in normal lighting. The vase is even a little different size. It stands 3 5/8 inches tall.

This is a very attractive Vintage Japanese cloisonne vase designed with a contemporary style or deco look. We have never seen another like it. The vase is rather large and is signed Sato. It stands 7 1/2 tall and is 8 1/2 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with only a little pitting on the bottom rim. This is probably the finest cloisonne example we have seen produced from this company.
