A resplendent Japanese cloisonne vase decorated with motif of a plant often seen during the autumn in Japan. The Japanese name is Hozuki, while in English it is known as either Japanese Lantern or Winter Cherry. The motif symbolize the height of autumn and the plant is often used in flower arrangements. Small blue Japanese cloisonne vase with traveling scene. The body of the vase is cool blue with a dark blue mountain behind a building surrounded by trees. Three travelers approach as they pass a cliff with a cypress tree. Showa period, 1920-1930. It measures 2" at the base5.25" tall,1.5" wide mouth.

Cloisonne enamel vase on hammered copper base. The meticulously positioned wires are in silver, as are the borders. The decor is simple, showing a bridge between two hills but exceptional because of its historical interest. Indeed it is a vase commemorating the bold construction of an aqueduct by a Japanese electricity company in the 1900s. The Chinese characters written below must relate the event, date it and also probably give the name of the creative artist or that of the enameling workshop...

Japanese early 20th century cloisonne vase by the Tamura Cloisonne Company. The blue colored vase has a large and beautiful yellow rose blossom. the silver toned metal rims appear to be chrome. The vase measures 9 7/8" tall and 6" in diameter. The vase comes with TOMOBAKO, the original artist signed wooden storage box.

Beautiful Japanese ginbari cloisonne vase. At 9 1/2", this is an unusually large and desirable example among the same group. It probably dates from the Meiji period (1868-1912) when the art of Japanese cloisonné enamels reached its highest point. Technological improvements enabled artists to create wonderful examples, including one of the most desirable techniques called "ginbari" (silver foil foundation) shippo as you see it here...

It is 9.6 inches (24.4 cm) tall by 6.6 inches (16.8 cm) wide. It is 2.3 Lb.

It has enamel hairline cracks (2 cm) at the side and one at one fish. It also has tarnished metals and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Japanese Meiji period barrel form cloisonne enamel vase with three panels decorated in butterflies, flowers, and birds set against a powder blue ground. The cartouches are placed against a brown background covered in dense abstract and floral patterns. There is green counter enamel on the base and interior. Circa 1880s. 7 1/8" high x about 4 1/2" wide. The barrel form suggests it is possibly an early Namikawa piece. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs...

Japanese cloisonné bottle form lidded vase on a Satsuma earthenware substrate with "kidney bean" cloisons, signed in orange-red on the base "Kinkozan." The body of the vase is decorated with opposing blue flower filled cartouches with white borders set against a black background permeated with flowers.
