This is a profusely decorated ultra fine Japanese cloisonne vase. It is in perfect condition and panel vases like this one do not come any better. The quality matches many early Hayashi vases. he rims are silver. It stands 6 inches tall and is signed Ota Kichisaburo. A few years ago we had a similar pair signed by Shibata that were of the same quality. See the last image.

This is a fabulous rare piece of Japanese Cloisonne. It is not signed but it could have easily been made Hayashi, Kinuken, or Miwa. It stands inches 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

19th C. Japanese Meiji period Cloisonne Vase, Ca. 1880, colorful flower branches on the turquoise color enamel background with silver wire, 7 1/4" high, 3 1/8" wide-widest part, silver bottom and top rim, green enamel work inside the vase near the top and bottom. The condition is good, no damages.

A lovely Unusual picture frame made with Japanese cloisonne imagery of white chrysanthemums and cascading leaves in gradient shades of green upon a muted yellow/beige background. Gorgeous hardwood has been used for the backing piece, with an old English style carved stand with chain, and an interior plaque that may be engraved. The frame is lined in silver. A real Treasure. A stylish cloisonné (shippo) beaker vase by Ando, 10” in height, circa 1950 – 1970. It has the original box with a pamphlet issued by the Ando Cloisonne Company, the leading cloisonné company in Japan. The note briefly introduces the company, how their cloisonné are made (with photos) and a photo of the very famous enameled mirror discovered in *Shoso-in.

One side is decorated with maple and cherry blossom among flowing water (known in Japanese as unkin) and the other side is chrysanthemums and flowing water (known as kikusui). This is a very attractive Japanese cloisonne vase by a rare artist. The vase is not signed but the work is very unique. A signed Goto vase with very similar work can be seen on page 79 of the book Japanese Cloisonne by Coben and Ferster. We used to own that vase and the mate that went to it. An interesting Japanese cloisonne hexagonal vase decorated with motifs of chrysanthemums. The cloisonne is done in a technique aka-sukashi, ginbari, where the metal base contains a pattern which is showing through the red cloisonne glaze. Above the metal base is the cloisonne work of chrysanthemum flowers with a bird flying in the distance. On the rim of the foot, two marks can be seen...

Japanese cloisonne small vase with blooming roses. There is a fully bloomed red rose and a small budding red rose. Along the base, there is a blooming white rose with pink edged petals. The body of the vase is a cool white. Taisho period, early 20th century. It measures 1.75" base diameter, 4" widest, 5" tall. Good condition.

Free of any loss or repair, this beautifully enameled vase on a copper base stands some 7-1/2 inches in height. Wonderfully elegant and understated.
