$2100.00 19th Century Japanese Porcelain figure of Kintaro in court attire in the style of a
Gosho Ningyo (Palace Doll) holding a Crane. Kintaro loved all birds and animals. This rare porcelain figure is signed by Makuzu, a well recognized porcelain artist who is collected by museums and collectors in Japan. He uses glazes in his own recognizable style. 4 inches, 10 cm tall. Excellent Condition. From a prominent and widely exhibited collection.

sold This deep plate was fired with no glaze at the first, and the second fired pictured traditional pattern with blue glaze and the third colored picture depicted peachs and flowers, and the last painted with gold. Very sophisticated piece.

$325.00 This wonderful Japanese banko nodder is somewhat unusual in that his head nods side to side rather than front to back like most nodders on the market. Dating circa 1880-1899, he was hand molded as evidenced by indentations and finger prints left by the artist on the inside of the bell/body. In excellent condition with the exception of one repair to the neck. At some point in his history, the weight broke in half and was re-attached. No other condition issues, no chips, cracks...
The Kura
Sold, Thank you! A bakumatsu era (mid 19th century) Shishi Koro of dark red clay covered in a rich green glaze from the Banko kilns in Mie. It is 14 x 24 x 8 cm (9 x 5-1/2 x 3 inches) and is in fine condition but for one clawed toe which has been chipped. This squat style of facial expression was popular from the declining years of the Edo period into the early Meiji, and fits the date of this piece perfectly.

$200 This later, stoutly potted porcelain hexagonal Ao-Kutani censer may be Meiji or as late as Taisho era. But the six biscuit panels with relief depictions of sages are noteworthy each with an associated animal from Chinese lore. Green yellow and red enameled decoration of blossoms and clouds. The cover with Shishi also in blue and aubergine (cover only fits one way.) Rims with chocolate brown glaze. All raised on six shaped feet. The bottom also unglazed biscuit...

Sold, thank you! Two sake cups notched and torn from pure white porcelain by Kato Takahiro enclosed respectively in their original signed wooden boxes decorated with overlapping cubes titled Sake Cup. Each is roughly 6.5 cm (2-1/2 inches) tall, 5.5 cm (2-1/4 inches) square and both are in excellent condition, directly from the artist this year.
These are by the rising star Kato Hirotaka who was born in Tajimi, Gifu prefecture, home of Shino and Oribe in 1985...
