An antique Bizen ware figure of Daikoku, one of the seven fortune gods in Japan. Daikoku is holding a mallet (uchide kozuchi) which Daikoku often holds. On the other hand, he is holding a two legged radish. The word radish in Japanese, daikon, is somewhat synonymous to Daikoku and a legend exist of how the two legged radish became associated with Daikoku. Age: Meiji Period. 1930's Japanese Satsuma Earthenware Feet Box with Millefleur & Karako Signed Kawaguri 川栗

It is 3.8 inches (8.9 cm) tall by 3.6 inches (9.2 cm) wide. It is 0.9 Lb.

It has stains, rubbing of gold and paint, small and flea bite chips at the rims of the lid and bottom, and surface wears (as seen in the photos).
