This is one of the most significant Japanese satsuma pieces ever created. This is a museum piece with fabulous workmanship in combination with a very large size. This bowl truly has a volume 10-20 times bigger than a normal 5 inch Yabu Meizan bowl. It measures 7 inches tall and is 9 ¾ inches wide. It is also heavily made weighing about 4-5 lbs. The bowl features 6 different exquisitely decorated panels in polychrome and gilt. These panels depict people, birds and landscape scenes...

This a beautiful and unique Japanese Satsuma bowl. Yabu pieces with unique birds like this one has are rare. The piece is very finely rendered with intense work. Condition is excellent. Japanese studio ware ceramic figure of the immortal, Gama Sennin. Based on the Chinese 10th century alchemist, Liu Hai, Gama Sennin is often depicted in relation to the lucky 3-legged money-toad. Gama Sennin can assume the form of a toad and can change his skin to appear young again. In this depiction of the much loved immortal, he sits on a rocky outcropping and hold in one hand a peach, in the other a small toad...

This is a great example Meiji Era satsuma. It is probably my favorite piece from Shizan. The colors are rich and the detail is fantastic. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall. This Ewer is in nearly perfect condition.

Japanese early 20th century Sumidagawa large pitcher. The pitcher is done with 3 monkeys done in high relief. The chop mark of the artist in on the back Inouye Ryosai. The vase measures 12 3/16" tall and 6 1/4" wide and about 4 5/8" in diameter.

This is truly a museum worthy piece from the great satsuma artist, Seikozan. It is probably our all time favorite example from this artist. This vase is literally smothered with intricate enamel and gold work. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall. This vase appears to be nearly perfect but it has had an amazing and nearly invisible rim chip repair.
