The material of vase is crackle glazed eathenware. It is more Satsuma type body but not small crackle as Satsuma. Nice Gold design with the panoramaic landscape painting over the two section of vase. The vase itself is in square shape, but the two handles are located on the corner on each end which make more unique. Well design with the gold works with beaded and moriage gold. Heavily glazed Japanese katakuchi bowl in the shape of a “Sazae” turban shell. Written on the lid is “made by Matsuyama” and “kashiki” (dish for serving sweetmeats). On the reverse side, there is a signature, "Kei Ho-o En" with a seal. We are not quite sure if this is an original box. Meiji, late 1800s. Great bowl for the kaiseki cuisine? A hairline crack (enlarged photo #7) is a surface crack (does not go through to the other side). Approx...

This is a very fine Japanese Satsuma shallow footed bowl. As can be seen in the images the workmanship is top level. It is 4 5/8 inches across and 1 1/2 inches tall. The piece is in excellent condition.

This is a beautiful Japanese satsuma bowl from satsuma master Yabu Meizan. The minute detail and workmanship are spectacular. The Detail in hand is finer and more impressive than what is shown in these blown up images. It displays very well but unfortunately the bowl was broken and repaired. The price for this bowl is a fraction of the price an unresstored Yabu bowl would bring. But the spectacular artistry and skill needed to to create this piece, can still surpass most Meiji era satsuma pieces...

This beautiful processional Satsuma Jar or koro is a treasure from he Meiji era. It is signed by both Sozan and Kinkozan. This stoutly made jar is 4 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The mixed metal lid is a replacement from the Meiji era, that fits perfect and is possibly more attractive than the original. We also have the original lid. It was broken in half and glued back together. The replacement lid has a gold wash in between the raised flowers. The piece has virtually no wear to the gold....

This is a great old satsuma piece from the Meiji era. The detail on this vase is amazing. Especially so, is the side with all the separate scenes in the 21 cartouches. Condition is excellent and the piece is almost like new. The vase stands 4 5/8 tall and is just under 4 inches wide.

This is really an exquisite piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is signed by Seikozan who was one of the finest satsuma artists. The pot is not overly large being 6 inches tall and 6 1/2 across including the spout/handle. The Condition is fabulous. This is a great piece of Satsuma especially at this price.

This is a very fine and extremely detailed Japanese satsuma vase. It was made by Kinkozan but the style reminds me more of a Ryozan piece. It is signed on the underside with an impressed mark. It stands 7 1/2 inches tall and in 4 3/4 inches wide. The vase is in excellent condition.
