Price on Request A well modelled finely cast and carved seated bronze Buddha, with very dark old patination, made in Kandy (central Sri Lanka) during either the 18th or 19th Century. There is a very similarly styled figure currently on display on the ground floor of the Victoria and Albert Museum (London): No. IS.127-1964 (Given by Havelock Pinkey).
Condition: excellent - no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. Only traces of the original gilding remain... Sandstone head of a goddess, from the famous erotic temples of Khajuraho, India. Chandella period (950-1050). The head is 32 cm (13 inch) high. Head plus stand 45 cm (18 inch). Museum quality piece. Provenance: private collection Belgium.

SOLD TO THE USA An extremely rare set of bronze figures depicting Krishna and his wife Radha. Very well proportioned and extremely finely engraved. Made in Orissa, India in the 17th or 18th century. Krishna is 22 cm high, Radha is 16,5 cm high. A complete set of Krishna and Radha is very hard to find. This set came from a Belgian private collection. I have more top quality pieces from this collection for sale, both in sandstone and in bronze. More pieces will be coming soon...

SOLD This is a large and early Buddhist applique textile, dating to no later than the mid-19th century. The design consists of a double-dorje centering a "yin-yang" emblem, representing the masculine and feminine principles of the universe. The piece is complete and intact with minimal wear as one would expect. It measures just over 30" in diameter. Textiles such as this one are exceedingly rare and seldom found.
Decorated with geometric motifs. W. 16 cm, H. 18 cm. Weight 300 gr. Great condition with nice age wear. Early to mid 20th century. Literature: ' Ethnic Jewellery from Africa, Asia and Pacific Islands, the René van der Star Collection' , page 115.

$95.00 Old Kalaga from Myanmar (now Burma) featuring an unusual but colorful bird. The kalaga is embroidered with a combination of metallic and plain threads, sequins, beads and glass stones. Applied around the bird in a circle are glass-like stones that give the appearance of moonstones. In very good antique/vintage condition, it measures about 14.25 inches square. Circa 1950's or earlier.

A pair woman's Paduka in fish form, made of hardwood and inlaid with brass wire. Base inscribed "Hindu bath sandals" and "Anna Broadwood". A similar pair in the Bata Shoe Museum Collection in Toronto. Dimension: c. 22 cm long, 8.8 cm wide, total height: 8.4 cm. Condition: few traces of usage, a short section with missing wire (see picture no. 2).
