Superior quality wooden Opium Pipe with Jade end and mouthpiece. 19th Century, China. Paktong, copper and brass saddle depicting bats and finely inlaid with various cabochons (colors are green, orange, red, gray and blue). A nice stoneware original bowl which is clearly marked. Very good condition and no restorations. Size: 21.5" (53.5cm) long. Provenance: Serious French Collector's Estate.

Description:

A black-glazed Jianyang Temmoko tea bowl was in nice form.
It was decorated in the covetto and partial of the outer surface with charming and rarely-seen oil spots.
The body clay was revealed at the foot ring in dry and grayish tint which was caused during long periods of burial.

Date: Southern Song Dynasty.1127-1279

A rare thinly potted and extremely well painted deep dish with exceptionally fine porcelain body. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration...

Beautiful pair of Chinese rectangular stands made of camel bone. This pair are carved all over with different types of scrolling vines. The top of one is carved with a dragon and phoenix with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds. The other stand top is carved with a pair of dragons with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds over waves. Age: Republic Period, early 20th century. Size: 36.5" Height x 13.5" Length x 10.5" Width.
