A dense polychrome enamel border extends around the interior and exterior of the top. A few blue bats are scattered on the exterior border and gilt highlights the rim. 14 1/4" diameter x 6 1/2" high. Late 19th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs...

Up for sale is an antique Chinese monochrome silk rank badge, woven with an egret, together with bats, Buddhist & Taoist auspicious objects, seawaves, sun disc, and cloud patterns; it meant to be wore on the back of a Mandarin official's surcoat; intricate weaving! Brocaded border was added later.

The bronze is covered with a beautiful old patina certifying the object 19th or before. Qing or Edo period.

In my opinion it's a chinese work, the look and the eyes seem to me the work of a Chinese artist and not a European one,clay too. I think it's from Qing period, probably Kangxi. It's too elegant to be Ming.
