An unused Chinese civil 5th rank silver pheasant (baixian) badge in original paper wrapping. Background is black silk with a border of bats and the “shou” character. Eight Buddhist symbols are featured with the endless knot having been created using the forbidden stitch. Made for the front of a woman's surcoat, this rank badge is in excellent condition, measures 12", and dates late 19th century.

The front of the pendant is decorated with 3 figures in a garden, one holding a fan and one holding a parasol. The text on the back of these pendants is usually about protection and good fortune for the wearer. Dimensions: 7 x 5,5 cm, length of the chain 53 cm. Weight 68 gr. There are holes on 3 sides of the pendant. There is a hallmark on the top side. Provenance: Dutch private collection. The acid test shows a silver content of ca. 90 %.

Chinese Silver Lotus Pod oval shape Pendant, with Agate bead, Ca. 1920, 3 1/4" for entire height, 1 5/8" high and 1 1/4" wide, 1 3/8" deep(Lotus Pod), rings like Bell, Pod is closed on the bottom, hollow inside, both side have same impressed design, the round Agate bead is 1 1/2" or 10mm diameter. It is 37.8 inches (96 cm) in circumference by 17.5 inches (44.5 cm) in length. The lock is 2 inches (5 cm) long 1.4 inches (3.6 cm) wide. The agate beads range from 10.4 mm to 21 mm wide. The total weight is 118.1 gram.
