This pottery model of a pig was made during the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220) and has been excavated from Sichuan province. It is quite "heavily-potted" and made from a red pottery. It has its snout close to the ground, clearly sniffing for truffles, and a moulded curly tail ! To the rear of the underside is a large firing hole.

This is a large example with a length of 36 cm (14 inches)...

DESCRIPTION: A nice old Chinese toggle carved from a striated wood in the form of two peaches. The peach is a symbol of longevity, and this thick toggle has a wonderful aged patina that only comes from age and handling. Strung with a cord through the holes under the stems, it would have hung from a sash and been used as a counterweight to a tobacco pouch or other utilitarian object. A wonderful example of Chinese folk art, this toggle dates from the 1700’s...

A large 10 inch Chinese celadon porcelain plate beautifully painted in polychrome enamels featuring a bird, insects, butterflies, and flowers. The painting was well executed by an artist who had a good eye for design. In very good antique condition, there is one fine hairline measuring .75" or 1.9 cm. and 1 fleabite. Marked on the back, it dates Tongzhi Period (1862-74).

Two very rare and large Canton enamel vases on the original wooden stands with lovely rich patina and bright well painted scenes of the Chinese goddess Chang'e. These quatrefoil vases enables the owner to change the scenes at will by merely turning the vase to a different panel. This is rare to find in Chinese vases of the period. A large and finely cast Chinese bronze censer and cover modelled as a seated qilin looking back over its shoulder, the unusual saddle-shaped cover with a short funnel for the exit of smoke. Qing dynasty, 18th century. 34 cms high. Good condition with a good old patina.

Fabulous Chinese antique bronze Guanyin Buddha statue, Qing dynasty Kangxi period, around 17th century. The Guanyin is sitting on a base, wearing a long robe, two eyes are looking down, holding a bottle.

A large Chinese Porcelain censor with blue monochrome exterior and white interior. There are three rounded bumps at the base that represent the three feet of a censor. The bowl measures about 5 1/2" high x 9 3/4" in diameter and dates to the Ching Dynasty. The condition is very good with some interior kiln flaw and glaze crawl.
