Chinese Jade carving of a maiden representing "Yuenu", a historic figure famous for her ability at archery and how to use a sword. She came from the Chinese province of Zhejiang and is sometimes called the Maiden of the Southern Forrest. The jade is beautifully carved with her holding a sword in her left hand and a ruyi scepter in her right, cloths flowing in the wind.

Chinese jade pair of horses with a monkey riding one the back of one of the horses. The imagery used on this Chinese carving can be derived from the noted legend of Journey to the West, where the monkey king is assigned by the Jade Emperor to oversee the heavenly stables, but does mischief in the end. Horses in East Asia represent swiftness and the monkey representing representing foolishness yet with the ability to learn its lesson. Age: 20th century. Size: height 4.25" width 5.5" length 6.5"

Finely carved foo dog playing with a small ball done in Jade. The fur of the foo dog is carved in stylized scrolled motif with detail work showing each fur. The stone is of medium celadon hue with a few darker spots as seen in the images, the quality of the carving is fine and detailed, especially in the head area. A pale celadon (off-white) Chinese jade of a cat reclining on a single, slightly curved leaf. The back of the leaf is carved with the leaf's venation. It is a delicate piece that has a hole carved at the top of the leaf enabling it to be used as a pendant. Size: L.5cm, W.3cm.
