Intandane ltd
**Sold** to Taiwan, August 2018 A rare bronze (copper & tin alloy) incense burner in the form of a Qilin made in China during the late Ming period.
Condition: the cover is missing and there is a small hole in the base; there is copper oxidation inside the tail and there are traces of the original black lacquer coating between its scales and in some of the recesses. / 6 inches high; 15 cm / 6 inches across. SOLD ! Thanks to Malaysia ! The censer is cast with twin upright handles and the body is decorated with three taotie panels divided by flanges. It is raised on three tall supports each decorated with a stylised mask and a flange. Late Ming Dynasty, 16th - 17th century. H : 25,9 cm. There is an old inventory Number to the base of the body. Ex Christie´s London.

Chinese Ming dynasty bronze standing acolyte on wood stand naturalistically pierced and carved to resemble a rocky outcropping. The left hand holds an object and the right hand gestures with two fingers pointing to the ground. The figure wears a gown and a headdress with long billowing ribbon scarves. Metal prongs secure the figure into the stand which appears to be original. 6 5/8" high on the stand. Excluding the metal prongs, the figure is slightly over 5" high. Circa 16th century...

A superb quality and very large pottery figure, dating to the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD. He is placed on a rectangular podium and wears a fine robe in matching blue and turquoise glazes. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details. The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period... |
