Ensemble of very old beads, I found these in a small shop in Phrae, Northeast Thailand a few years ago. The green mottled beads are late Qing Dynasty Peking glass, the brown glass tapered tube bead emulating agate was probably made for the Funan or Chenla Kingdoms as I have agate beads from the same period which are pretty much identical, the white bead with orange splash is at least early Qing...

Chinese Neolithic Qijia Culture Cord-Impressed Pottery Jar

This jar was made some 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Neolithic Qijia Culture (c. 2050 - 1700 BC), from what is now eastern Gansu province. They produced a variety of pottery vessels including cord-impressed pottery of many shapes and sizes. This particular example is made from a coarse gritty clay and has a wide flaring mouth...

A beautiful quadratic prism shaped translucent brown jade with two ring carved on each end. The jade is strung with three old Chinese beads. Age; Song or earlier Size: 3.4 x 2.1cm. Condition: No chips.

Chinese Neolithic ceremonial harvesting blade (hu), made of semi translucent mottled green nephrite. Exceptionally thin and sharp cutting edge. 4 conical holes would have been for attaching to wooden handle on working versions of this type of blade. Likely from the Longshan culture. On a custom wooden stand. Age: (Circa 2,000 B.C.) Provenance: Came from an Estate of Philip Cardiero in Pebble Beach, CA. Size: 19 1/4" long x 3 7/8" wide x 3/16" thick.

Liao Flask shaped like a leather prototype with a vertical spout and a loop handle on the other side, both rising from a tall ovoid body covered in a rich glossy amber glaze, stopping above the foot to reveal the buff stoneware. Complete footed cast bronze Hu (wine container), terminating curved and bulbous contour flaring on square mouth. Banded edge and lidded square cover. Has a slight apex top with four serpentine shaped mounted on a terminal bends. The ring handles of the hu measures 2 1/2" diameter with loped and mounted on a taotie mask which is molded in low relief...

Amitabha is one of the most widely worshipped deities in Mahayana Chinese Buddhism from the late 6th to the 10th Cent. and in Japan from the 11th Century onward...

Chinese tomb pottery figure of an foreign army general. He stands confidently with chin up and arms bent. His fists are clenched and most likely he once wielded a spear or weapon of some sort. His armor is elaborately carved with swirling motifs and he wears a helmet with round finial. His eyes are wide and his teeth are defined in an intense expression. He is sculpted with great care and traces of slip pigment are still apparent where he was once painted...
