Good large Ming sancai ceramic wedding bed. These were interred in tombs of wealthy individuals to serve them in the afterlife. Nowadays they burn paper replicas instead. This piece has ornate eves in green and amber glaze, no cracks but some minor fritting. It is a large and heavy piece so free international shipping is offered via surface mail, if you would like a faster service than the buyer will pay the additional costs. Good Ming Dynasty blue and white porcelain bowl with boatmen on a lake shore, clear drawing and consistent cobalt blue color. There are a couple of hairlines, noted in enlargements as well as frits caused by bubbles under the glaze on the rim. D: 13.6cm/5.3in and H: 5.2cm/2in.

Chinese Yuan dynasty flattened rounded form twin-handled moon flask covered in an amber-brown glaze, each face with moulded relief figural decoration possibly depicting dancers and musicians. The high foot with unglazed, recessed base has two typical pierced holes. The shape was derived from flasks carried along the Silk Road by West Asian merchants. Pair of small Ming dynasty Longquan celadon vases of compressed pear-form with flaring foliate form mouth decorated on opposing sides with low moulded relief leafy floral decoration. A pair of s-shaped handles are on each side of the neck. The celadon glaze with olive tint ends at the slightly flaring unglazed foot which has burnt orange from firing. The recessed base is glazed. Good black glazed with large swathes of russet jug circa Ming Dynasty bottle with two lugs. There are a few chips on the lower edge of mouth. This kind of ware was the “coke bottle” of their day, common place household/kitchen items, almost every home would have a few. No reason (after a good cleaning and sanitation) you couldn’t reuse for your favorite poteen, bai jiu or single malt. H: 21cm/8.2in and D: 14.5cm/5.8in.

Rare Chinese Yuan Dynasty Burnished Black Pottery Groom Figure (32.5cm)

This impressive and attractive pottery figure was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Such figures from the Yuan Dynasty are very distinctive and are particularly rare and desirable. The surface of such Yuan figures is typically fired to grey, or almost black, and sometimes, as in this case, burnished to a smooth finish.
