The canopy spandrel has turned hook-spindles for holding drapes or clothing. The main canopy lattice pattern has a centralized floral medallion. Up for sale is an antique Chinese Manchu woman's informal domestic robe; 19th century; trims embroidered with flowers and butterflies, and purple silk damask ground embroidered with dragon roundels, backed with light blue silk. Front enclosure to the right with 4 large gilt toggle-and-loop buttons. The robe is in good condition, vibrant colors! Slight discolorations & stains in few places of the purple silk, both front and back front, & white sleeve bands are soiled in few places...

SOLD An antique pair of Chinese vases with lingzhi mushroom outcrops on a craggy rock platform. The lingzhi mushroom is a symbol of longevity and health. The platform could display an object. These wares originated out of kilns in the Shiwanzhen sub-district within the city of Foshan, going as far back as the Neolithic period. Each vase is pigmented with custard yellow and aubergine.

Massive Chinese Qing dynasty baluster form lidded general’s helmet jar decorated in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with a Yuan inspired pond scene of ducks swimming among lotus. A ruyi-head border and four animal mask handles are high on the shoulder below the short neck. A lappet band extends around the tapering foot. The slightly recessed base is unglazed.
