This pair of Chinese lotus shoes were made by a woman of limited finances. She bought what materials were needed for the vamp and supplemented with the use of rough home spun fabric scraps to cover the shaped heals and soles. The limited amount of expensive gold couching threads outlining the floral embroidery pattern on each side of the shoes indicates that this pair of lotus shoes would have used only for special occasions...

A Chinese silver bowl embossed with a continuous decoration of chrysanthemums around the body. Antique Chinese peach silk ladies robe with blue and gold embroidery. Wonderfully embroidered butterflies, phoenixes and fans in gold. Peony flowers embroidered in shades of blue and white. Pair of Antique Chinese horseshoe armchairs made of beautiful light color huanghuali wood, woven rattan seats, carved with chimera motif on back splat and front apron, nice joinery and smooth carving, original condition. Size: 39 1/2" high x 27 1/2" wide x 27" deep.

Chinese black silk embroidered panel with a very finely rendered butterfly over a peony. The small bright orange embroidery is the forbidden stitch. In very good condition with colors still true, only the piping showing signs of wear. No staining on the embroidered side. Measures 18.5" (47 cm) long x 9.75" (24.8 cm) wide.

Beautiful and unusual altar table with pink marble top, late 19th early 20th century. It is made of rosewood and beautifully carved with peony and iris flowers and dragons. There is a scrolling pattern on each side of the altar. There is a rectilinear pattern under the table top. It measures 35" wide 19" deep 32.5"' tall.

Description:

A sitting bronze figure was nicely cast.
Being depicted as a scholar with flouring robe and a official hat, the figure was in casual mood by resting his arm to the stool beside him.
It was perfectly preserved with nice darken patina.

The base carries the six character iron red reign mark of the Guangxu emperor and this item was made during his reign (1875-1908). Condition - there are three 2.5cm (1 inch) light hairlines running from the rim (please view enlargements); no further damages and no restoration...

A Chinese mirror mounted with an 19 century jade ruyi head plaque on the back and a belt hook as a handle.The former is finely carved with precious objects; the canopy, fish, vase of flowers, lotus and endless knot, the handle shows a dragon with lingzhi facing the chilong. The mount is gilt silver and stamped "silver", the stones are of translucent pale celadon grey of even hue. Age: the stone : 19C., the mount: early 20C. size: overall length: 7 1/2 inches ( 18cm)...

Description:

A bronze water basin was inscribed with poems and carved with beautiful scenery on the surface.
The inscriber was Pu Ton, A sibling of the last emperor of Qing Dynasty Pu Yi.
Pu Ton was also a famous scholar of late Qing to early Republic periods.
This bronze piece was cast in thin wall but was kept in very good condition with darken patina on the surface.

Date: 1924, by the Chinese lunar date JiaZi inscribed before the poem...
