Zentner Collection
SOLD Chinese pair of monochrome porcelain vases with a speckled raspberry glaze. They are of an elegant, elongated tapering form, the bases of each vase marked with Hongxian red seal. In the year 1916, Yuan Shikai attempted to reinstate monarchy by naming himself the Emperor of China after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown in 1911. Due to extreme backlash, his reign lasted for less than 100 days, ending on March 1916.

The dish is 0.6 inch (1.5 cm) tall by 2.95 inches (7.5 cm) wide. The cup is 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) tall by 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide. The total weight is 369 gram. They have tarnished silver and surface scratches. One cup has minor bent at the side. Two of the cups have bent at the bottom (as seen in the photos). A six-character underglaze blue zhuanshu square form Qianlong mark is on the base. Possibly mark and period...

In elegantly curved rim, the dish was decorated in the center with carved floral pattern. It was preserved in perfect condition except some burial stains were left on the surface. Date: Northern Song Dynasty AD960-1127 Width :12cm. A Custom-made cotton box is included.
