Chinese antique Blanc de Chine figure of the warrior woman, Mulan. She is standing with one hand raised. She wears a wide rimmed hat and elaborate armor. The figure is delicately modeled in porcelain and finished with a clear glaze. The last two characters, of the the faint impressed seal on the back, read Yi Ren. Republic Period. Porcelain polychrome statue of the noted sage, Liu Hai. Liu Hai was the noted 10th century alchemist who learned the secret of immortality from the three legged frog, Jin chan (Chan chu). The frog is known for beckoning wealth. Later, in China and Japan, the combination of Liu Hai and the frog became the symbol of fortune and wealth. A finely carved Chinese agate in the form of a popular motif often seen in Tibet which is the windhorse. The use of Tibetan motifs in Chinese arts began during the Ming dynasty with patronage of the Tibetan high lamas and continued onwards into the Qing Dynasty. The windhorse is carrying a pecha or sutra text, a signature motif often found on windhorses. The stylized ribbons and the waves are done in the Chinese style. Charming Chinese figure of a monkey with young monkey and a branch full of peaches carved out of beautiful orange agate, standing on an intricately carved wooden base also with peaches. Although there are earlier depictions of monkeys in Daoist texts, one more popular Ming Dynasty story from "The Journey to the West" tells of a monkey who steals a peach from the garden of the Jade Emperor. The monkey gains immortality from the peach but is banished to earth as his punishment...

A small Chinese agate carving of a tiger and her cub set on a wooden stand with motif of bamboo carved along with jagged rocks. The combination of bamboo and tigers in Chinese art can be seen as early as the Ming dynasty. The tiger, often represented as the king of the earth combined with bamboo a symbol of the mind of a literati, can be seen as the ideals of the individual. Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period cylindrical form rouleau vase with a narrow columnar neck and cupped rim, decorated overall in gilt with cranes flying among stylized lucky clouds set against a powder blue ground. A band of lappets extends around the circumference of the base. The angled shoulder is encircled by a band of bats and scrolling foliage. Two underglaze blue concentric circles are on the white porcelain base. The vase stands 14 1/4” high and dates from the late 19th century...

Chinese late Qing dynasty export porcelain jardinière, or planter, decorated around the circumference in famille rose enamels with an assortment of precious objects set against a white ground. A ruyi head border encircles the exterior rim and a geometric band is above the foot. The canted rim is decorated in an orange-red band. The white glaze extends part way down into the unglazed interior. The base and foot rim are unglazed...

Antique Chinese bronze incense burner in the form of a goose. The wings of the goose are also the lid of the incense holder. The feathers are done with great naturalism. Republic period, early 20th century. It measures 13.5" tall 8.5" long 4" wide.

Chinese huang huali box from the mid 20th century. The box is beautifully decorated with dragons on the front doors and the top. The top of the box and doors open to reveal an open compartment and four drawers. The box has handles on either side. The piece is fitted with bronze metal hardware.
