Wonderful pair of Chinese cloisonne elephants, each one sits on it's rear end with trunk high in the air, decorated all over with beautiful cloisonne motifs, these pieces are actually containers! The heads come off to reveal little domed lids, these also come off to reveal containers! Each elephant sits on a stand. Beautiful and charming! Early 20th century. A rare black and white Ching jade of a sleeping cat. Black and white jades are very rare and the carver uses the two colors to fit the carving making a beautiful black and white cat. It has a hole drilled at the tail and can be worn as a pendant. Size: L. 4.00cm, W. 2.5cm. Condition: No chips or repairs.

A globular bodied vase painted in dark reddish brown on a white slip. The main body has three large sprays of flowers. A large brown band encircles the shoulder and below the floral sprays are several thin bands - some straight and some wavy. Typical of this type. Period: Song (10th - 11th Century) Size: Height 25 cm Width 20 cm.

The marble painted with scenes of Chinese saints in a garden. Size: 34 x 34 cm. Very good condition with expected age wear.

A Cizhou ceramic pillow with an ivory colored glaze which continues to a little above the base. The center of the headrest is painted fluidly with a floral spray in a brown iron pigment while a loose band of three freely incised lines encircle the flower. The base is left unglazed. Period: Song (10th Century) Size: Width = 23.5 cm (9-1/4 inches) Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Some loss of the glaze on both top edges.

An extremely finely and delicately painted eggshell porcelain bowl by Wang Yijun. The poem on the reverse side reads "Wen ji qi wu xiang feng nian, fu gui rong hua ren ping an. Wang Yijun zuo" which can translate as "Practice the sword while hearing roosters (meaning work hard) and enjoy the affluence of the year; wish people wealth, prosperity and safety. Made by Wang Yijun"The seal mark to the base reads "Jingdezhen Zuo" - Made in Jingdezhen. Wang Yijun (1904 - 1989)was born in Anhui, China...
