A pretty porcelain figure of Guanyin seated on a lotus 'throne' attractively painted with bright famille rose / fencai enamels. This item was probably made in south China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820). Condition - there has been extensive restoration and re-painting. The hands have been broken off and replaced. The head has been broken off and re-fixed and there has been another break to the middle. There has also been restoration to the lotus petals...

$125.00 Antique Chinese porcelain cricket cage of a gourd form. Its lid has reticulated air vents, enamel peonies and Chinese characters and gilt edge details. The cage front has enamel scene of a young boy and girl having tea in a field of flowers, with an inscription on the backside. Red four character mark on base.

Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration.

$275.00 This is a large ceramic pillow in the form of a cat, done in cream and brown colors, in old Cizhou Kiln style. The ceramic cat pillow measures about 13" long x 7" tall, and dates to the turn of the 20th Century. There is a Chinese "Cultural Properties" wax stamp on the cat's back. The pillow is in excellent condition. Free shipping within the USA.

*Sold* through our Liverpool Shop June 2018 A heavy six-sided porcelain deep bowl decorated on the outside with famille rose enamels depicting ladies and boys in a garden landscape. The base bears the six character seal mark ( painted in iron red) of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874).
Condition: there are enamel losses to the turquoise glazed interior: no losses to the famille rose enamels: no chips or cracks to the porcelain body and no restoration.
21 cm (8.5 inches) across; 9 cm (3.6 inches) high.

This story is to be found in the historical novel the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and also in the Peking opera "Loss of Jieting"...

**SOLD** Through our Liverpool Shop April 2021 A rare and very finely decorated Chinese porcelain vase depicting a flowering peony shrub painted with fencai/famille rose enamels.
On the base is the iron red four character mark "Shen de tang zhi" -the "Hall for the Cultivation of Virtue" which was located in the Old Summer Palace, the Yuanmingyuan, which was destroyed by European troops in 1860. The mark was used during the Kangxi and Daoguang reigns and also during the Republic period (1912-1948) when we believe this vase was made...
