A rare and beautiful, flattened form bamboo box with cover, probably used as a seal paste or brush washer. It is carved out from the root part of bamboo and nicely polished. Inside the lid a compass (no longer functioning). Qing, 18–19th cent. H 3 cm, D 7,5 cm. Condition: Over-all fine, and really good, old patina, but with small chip to lid.

A Chinese blue and white porcelain jar decorated with dramatic and humoristic animals and other motifs, and two unreadable characters on the bottom. The carved overlay glass snuff bottle is an early 20th century product. The red over clear glass snuff bottle is 2 ¾” high, 1 5/8” wide and 3/4” thick. Both sides have the same design which depicts a blossom tree. It has a light carnelian cap which is a later replacement. It is in great condition.
