$1,850.00 A fine carved boxwood figure depicting Avalokitesvara, Guanyin Pusa in Chinese, the Bodhisattva of Compassion reclining on an armrest, holding a scripture roll in one hand.
Well carved from a single piece of boxwood, good details and fine patina. H 20 x L 13 x W 9 cm ca.
Condition: minor repairs/filled and minor losses as well as a few thin drying cracks.

Unlike a lot of other russet bowls, there is an additional painted floral decoration at the center of this bowl, according to the tradition, bowls with this kind of additional work were meant to tribute into the palace. Chinese Eastern Wei - Northern Qi Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Armoured Rider with Oxford TL Test
This fine and rare pottery model of a horse & rider was made in the 6th Century during either the Eastern Wei Dynasty (AD 534 - 550) or the following Northern Qi Dynasty (AD 550 - 577). Pottery horses from this period have a distinct style different to the more common and later Tang Dynasty equivalents... Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider (206 BC - AD 8)
This fine and attractive pottery horse and rider was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a dark grey pottery, quite "heavily-potted", that has been "cold painted" in a base coat of creamy-white pigment with the details mostly picked out in red and black pigments although there are also traces of pink and green pigments in places...

Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Female Courtier ("Fat Lady") AD 618 - 906
Perhaps the most desirable and collectable pottery sculpture from the Tang Dynasty is the female courtier, or "fat lady". This fine example was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The figure is made from a reddish-brown pottery and is relatively highly-fired. There are minor firing fissures to the base of the figure where the pottery is thick... Very Rare & Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish (Ex. Lammers Collection)
This large and impressive porcelain dish was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is elaborately decorated in underglaze blue of good colour. Although it has some features of what many people refer to as "kraak" ware, it would be more correct to call this "Zhangzhou" or "Swatow" ware...

Sold on Layaway Chinese transitional period compressed ovoid form jar decorated in underglaze blue with birds and insects flying among bamboo and flowering plants emerging from rockery set against a white porcelain ground. The upright glazed neck is decorated with downward pointed leaves. Glazed interior and flat slightly recessed unglazed base. 17th century. Measures nearly 12" high. Very good overall condition. There is a fine old brown chicken foot crack in the interior (see image)...
