An octagonal wooden box with hinged lid, the interior with original pewter tea caddy, original key. Finely painted in two different gold tones showing scenes with figurines in courtyards, on a black lacquered ground. Condition: fine quite pristine, few traces of usage, the lock seems not to work. Gilt finish on the rim area is worn in some areas.

Fine Large Chinese Qianlong Blue & White Porcelain Dish / Charger

This dish was made in the 18th century, during the Qianlong reign (1735 - 1796) of the Qing Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration features a delicately drawn garden scene featuring bamboo, blossoms and a bird in flight. An elaborate floral pattern surrounds the border. Iron-brown has been painted around the rim edge to prevent fritting of the glaze.

The box is 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) tall by 7.8 inches (20 cm) long and 5.55 inches (14.1 cm) wide. Each tile is 0.5 inch thick (1.2 cm) by 1.2 inches (3 cm) in length and 0.84 inch (2.1 cm) wide. It is 4.1 lb.

The box has a chip and hairline cracks at the lid, a hairline cracks at the bottom, flea bite chips, peeling of paint, and surface wears and scratches...
