Five chinese blue and white tea cups made for the Japanese market. Grey/white glaze and underglaze cobalt blue of a deep indigo color depicts birds and flowers in a whimsical design. The cups were used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Fretting on the edges. 17th century. Cups measure 5" at lip.

An early 18th Century "Chinese Imari" Tea Caddy or Cannister made in Jingdezhen, southern China, for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1736). Chinese Kangxi period (1662-1722) globular form export porcelain lidded teapot with straight spout, loop handle, and domed cover decorated overall with panels of flowering plants in the Imari palette of underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze red pigments with gilt highlights set against a white porcelain ground. Circa 1700. Measures 5 5/8” from handle to spout and 4 ¼” in height. Very good overall condition...

With maker's mark "SF" standing for Sing Fat, who worked in the early 20th century in Canton, a Chinese character mark and "90". Condition: few traces of usage, insert with rim frittings. Elegant silver cigarette case, the lid decorated with bamboo. Inside marked "Tackhing", "90% silver" and a Chinese character mark. This silversmith was active between the late 19th century and early 20th century in Hong Kong. With original blue silk lined paper box, the lid with glass.
