It is presented on an equally fine earlier zitan, or similar, wood stand. Both are in excellent condition. The silver work has a distinct art nouveau style to it, the lid is made of orange agate, silver and coral.

SOLD Antique chinese jade snuff bottle with a beautiful engraving of a water bird standing amid lotus. There are bats carved on each side. The opposite face of the bottle has an inscription derived from the noted Tang Dynasty poet, Cao Song. The poem is from the Quan Tang Si collection of Chinese poetry and the poetry is five character four line verse which ends midway. SOLD Circa 1820-1840 large table size rock crystal snuff bottle. Superbly done with the greatest skills depicting carvings of birds, foliage, and a Qilin mythical beast. The bottle rests on a fine custom rosewood stand that is also expertly produced. In the 2nd photo, it is shown next to a normal rose quartz snuff bottle so you can compare its large size.
