Right side of a carved wooden architectural panels that were once used in a temple. The panels are carved with a pair of smiling figures set near a tree. The panel may have been placed under the corner eaves of the roof above the pillars. Elaborate carvings became popular during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) various motifs and designs were created often seen in Taoist and Confucian temple architecture. This lovely Guan Yin statue shows Guan Yin holding the bottle of life in one hand and a droplet of water in a form of a water ball in another hand. Her face is serene and peaceful.

This is a Tibeto-Chinese bronze Buddha from the 19th. century. It has a unique design with lots of miniature Buddhas applicated.

We offer from our private exhibition a Tibeto-Chinese large and heavy gilt bronze four faced Amitayus Buddha from the late Qing Dynasty ( 1644 - 1912 ).

The Amitayus ( Bodhisattva of Longevity ) is seated on double-lotus throne in dhyanasana and with both hands in dhyanamudra.

The statue is 17,1 inches high and 7,5kg heavy!

It is marked and in great condition.

Up for sale from our private Buddha collection is this bronze gilt Guanyin with a well carved six-character Xuande Mark.

She is seated in rajalilasana with an expression of peace and serenity. The Guan Yin is wearing a tiara and loose robes falling over the shoulders with lots of images.

Please notice the rare throne with its face on the arm rest and the claws on the base of the throne. Very seldom and rare.

Qing Period, late 19th. century...

A very rare yab-yum bronze from the end of the 19th. century ( Qing Dynasty 1644 - 1912 ), acquired for the van Norten collection in the early 30's of the last century in Sichuan showing the male deity in sexual union with his female consort. Yab-yum means Tibetan literally 'father - mother'.

The statue presents a great amount of detailed wealth...

This is a fine bronze Buddhist votive shrine from the middle of the 19th. century ( Qing ) continuing the tradition of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The shrine has four splayed legs cast with an inscription and is cast in relief with a seated figure of Buddha.

As you can see, it is in good condition.

Up for sale is this solid and fine seated bronze Guan Yin. It has an old Kanxi mark, but we think this statue dates from the Qing Dynasty in the 19th.cent. and was not made earlier. The statue has a lot of interesting carved ornaments.

A very fine antique Chinese archaic green jade carving of a beast. It's head has barred teeth and is turned to look backward over it's haunches to which are attached wing-like structures or a kind of stylized saddle. The unusual and thick tail twists and spirals in a circle and the feet rest on a sleigh-like pierced base. Early 19th Century, origin China, very good condition with no cracks or repairs. Size: L. 7 cm. x H. 4.75 cm. Rare!
