SOLD Description: A traditional Chinese religious sculpture was in a image of Louhan and was preserved with original paints and gold leaf. Date: 14th-15th Century.
Material: Wood.
Height: 44cm Width: 26cm Depth: 19cm
Condition: Overall in good condition except some wear at the lower part of the torso. Stand, part of left palm and religious weapon holding in the right hand were lost .

A magnificent bronze Guanyin was preserved in a decent look. By a very fine condition, the bronze deity was reserved with the original patina of the painted gold leaf and the enduring old and darken bronze sheen. Sitting on the legendary holy beast- Hong, the Guanyin was in a easy-posture with one leg resting on the back of the animal and with another leg stepping on the lotus pedestal. She was heavily cast by fine quality of bronze and was carved by brilliant crafts... From our Early Chinese Collection, a very fine Ming bronze of Guanyin, 16th-17th century, crisply cast with a wonderfully serene countenance, a tiered and pierced diadem (crown), urna on the forehead signifying divine sight, body jewelry, and seated with right hand in verada mudra upon a double lotus base. This piece has developed a nice deep brown / dark gray patina with several areas of greenish verdigris suggesting high copper content to the bronze...

Price on Request An elegant and highly stylized zun-shaped lacquered bronze vase, either Chinese Late Ming Period (1600's) or Japanese Early Edo Period (1600's). This very interesting and attractive piece with its splayed footed base, angular shoulder, and trumpet-shaped mouth that resembles opened floral petals when viewed from the interior, was most likely intended as a flower vase itself, but its intended purpose is no more certain than its actual country of origin...

A wood Bodhisattva was nicely carved and was well preserved in very good condition. In metal-sheen-like patina, the wooden deity was depicted in serene mood by well carved features. A portion of the base was missing, an old defect. Date: Early Ming periods, 14th/15th century. Height: 23.5cm. A SILK BOX IS INCLUDED. Wonderful early sculpture, depicting a Chinese saint or deity. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). H. 35 cm. Condition: expected age wear.

Sold Chinese Ming Dynasty (or older) stone head of a Buddha, mounted. The size is 44 cm in height (including stand) and the weight is 16,5 kg. Well-carved with the face in a pleasant expression with beautiful lips and almond-shaped eyes, flanked by elongated earlobes and his hair in a four leaf style, which is extremely rare. We never have seen that type of hair on the antique market before. It is part of our family collection for more than 100 years...
