Made of painted wood, depicting husband and wife, seated on a chair. Most probably from the Hunan Province. The lady still has a small parcel with offerings in her back. We opened it up and found a seahorse, pieces of stone and mica and other materials. H. 27 and 29,5 cm. Condition: heavily eaten by woodworms, which adds to the charme. The figures were treated by the former owner and are perfectly clean.

A good Chinese boxwood carving of Budai. Three children clamor over him. A bat appears on his right hand. Bone and horn inlays detail his eyes and teeth. Rich, mellow old patina. Nice grain figure in places. Late Qing to early Republic. Ca 1900. Very good condition with typical minor distress checks in the old hardwood surface. Remnants of old label. Height, about 4 5/8 inches high.

Statue of a Taoist deity, in formal attire, seated on a throne. Wood, decorated with polychrome pigments. Small votive box at the back. China, Qing dynasty, end of 19th century. Height: 22.7 cm. Traces of candle soot on the front, old insect attack beneath (no danger), otherwise good condition.

The sculpture is of excellent quality. The Kouanyin is represented seated in a position of royal relaxation. Very heavy wood is covered with several coats of paint. The details are finely incised but are almost all covered by the paintings. The hand was made apart. The expression of the face is calm, attentive and benevolent. The movement of the fabrics is elegant.Traces of textiles.Yuan style but I am not able to certify the authenticity because there are so many copies...

Carved wooden cup representing large lotus leaves and buds on which evolve a crab and a shrimp. The feet are made up of snails. Although the carving work is of excellent quality, the wood used is not purple sandalwood. Part of the edge has been broken as shown in the photo, but this does not affect the aesthetics of the object. In addition, restoration work is possible with a perfect result. The god is represented standing, holding a peach in one hand and a stick ending in a mushroom Ling-zhi in the other, all the attributes of long life. The carving is precise, as can be judged by the regular parallelism of the hairs of the beard.
