Rare original Shanghai poster,professionally framed,from the 1930's of Jiang Qing as a young actress. There are many reproductions of this poster, but this is an original that I acquired in China many years ago. Jiang Qing was noted for being Mao Tse Tung's fourth wife and a member of the "Gang of Four." Size: Frame. 85.8 x 69 cm. Poster. 62 x 46 cm. Condition: Normal ageing cracks and some minor repairs.

Antique Chinese brush rest made of black glazed porcelain in the form of a lingbi scholar rock. Sculpted and drilled with holes and windows like a miniature version of the prized lingbi stone. This brush rest has five peaks, creating four areas in which to lay one's brush when it's not in use. Fitted with a carved hardwood base. The flat underside is carved with a six character Qianlong mark.

The teapot is cast in bronze. The body has the shape of a melon and the spout that of a stylized bird. The handle supports have a typical shape for this period. The handle, which has now disappeared, must have been made of perishable materials, probably braided bamboo fibre. It is exceedingly rare to find a Chinese bronze teapot from this period. It is functional and perfectly pours the tea without uncontrolled drips. Good condition, the lid is crack (see photo), no restoration...
