Large Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - 9 AD) hu form earthenware jar with a flaring mouth embellished with a wide raised collar. The chalky painted mineral pigment decoration on this type of jar was designed to imitate the inlaid decoration on Chinese bronze vases. According to the Metropolitan Museum, the swirling cloud-like designs covering the vessel are thought to represent celestial mists through which the deceased would travel to join the immortals. Dates circa 1st century B.C...

Chinese Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) pottery jar with splayed neck and everted rim covered overall with an iridescent green lead glaze. Characteristic kiln support remnants are on the base and mouth. 5 1/2" high x about 5” diameter. Very good overall condition. This jar is from an Arizona collection. It was purchased in 1996 from Lam’s Gallery in Hong Kong.

Unusual and rare pottery figure from the Han Dynasty of a soldier in uniform sitting on a stool with one leg folded under him. There are still some remains of a white slip. Size: H.9.5cm. Condition. No repairs.

Large Chinese Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) iridescent green glazed tapering ovoid form burial jar decorated with a band of well moulded animal forms extending around the upper circumference of the jar. Measures 7" high x 8" diameter. The mouth and base have the typical indications of the Han firing process. Small remnants of the clay support from the kiln are visible at the lower base and at the mouth where the jar was detached from supports. Very good overall condition...

An exceptionally and very rare beautiful and unusual stem bowl with a thick black glaze and decorative bands painted in an iron rust color. There is one boldly etched (scraffiato) large flower with leaves. The background of the flower is in an iron rust glaze accentuating the floral spray...

Description: A black-glazed, narrowed-neck bottle vase was squeezed and applied on shoulder with four small looped handles.
Well applied on the surface with dark glaze which was in greasy feel and was yielded with immensely spread crackles due to age, it was sat on a flat bottom from which the grayish white-tinted body clay was revealed.

Date: Southern Dynasty南朝, 5th-6th century.

This is the most desirable of all the Han dogs. Not only has it been beautiful executed but has one of the nicest faces I have ever seen on a Han dog,it looks great from every angle. Size: H.26.5cm. A very large authentic Tang tomb guardian wearing a typical warrior's uniform standing on an evil earth creature with remains of the original pigments. The guardian was there to protect the tomb from these evil creatures. The item was found with its parts separated.Large statues like this were made in several parts. See last photo. A nice rare scalloped Liao plate, boldly incised with blossoms and leaves, under a cream and bright leaf green and amber glaze. Comes with a certificate from the Chinese Government Auction House. Size: Diameter. 13.5cm. Condition: A broken piece at the rim that was glued back on probably at the site. It is almost invisible on the front of the plate. See photos.

A pair of nicely formed hollow glazed pottery birds. Both have round plump figures and lots of character. The darker bird has two glazes - a brown splash of glaze that runs over a straw glaze. The lighter bird has a celadon colored glaze. The glaze on both birds have a very fine crackle.

Fine Chinese 9th - 10th Century Stoneware Ewer

This fine and rare stoneware ewer was made during the 9th to 10th century (from the end of the Tang Dynasty AD 608 - 916, the Five Dynasties period AD 907 - 960, to the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1127), most likely a product of one of the Guangdong kilns. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a very finely-crackled olive-green glaze...

A beautiful authentic Western Han pottery cocoon jar in the shape of a silkworm cocoon. The outer surface is embellished with the original painted abstract banding and scrolling designs in pigments of dark and light brick reds, grey blue, and white. Size: H. 28cm.L. 31cm.
