This item was made circa 1750 - 1800 during the reigns of either the Qianlong or the Jaiqing Emperors. Rare Serpentine-Jade Bird Feeder from China. Fine condition and very good color. Size: H. 1 1/8" x W. 2" including ring which enables locking the bowl securely by inserting a small bamboo stick through the holes on the outside of the bird cage.

A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools...

A rare and unusual archaic style Jade carving in the form of a "double bird" You. There is a late Shang dynasty bronze You of similar form, described as a Xiao You (Owl You) in the collection of Shanxi Museum, Shanxi Province. This item was exhibited in the Royal Academy, 1973, and can be seen on page 72 of "The Genius of China" (ISBN 0 7230 0107 3)...

An intricately hand carved Chinese rosewood or similar hardwood lid for a ginger jar. There is a small insurance number written on the inside of the lid, see last photo. A beautiful rare etched paitong basin depicting court ladies playing chess in the center. Around the inside of the basin there are scenes of scholars, artists, falconer etc. Around the inside edge is etched the "shou" characters representing good luck and fortune. Size: Diameter: 42.5cm. Condition: No repairs. A small casting crack on the inside that does not go all the way through.

19th century Korean plaque of a tiger hand carved and painted with red and gold gilt pigments. Dates Joseon dynasty. Condition is good except some old wood loss to the inner paw area. It measures about 8" x 7 inches.

A large and magnificent pair of Chinese fu lions ready to guard your home and protect you from evil spirits. The hand-carved foo dogs are solid wood and sit on platforms or separate bases that not solid. The male foo dog has a decorative ball under his left paw while the female dog has a playful pup lying on its back under her right paw. The dogs are in very good antique condition with normal wear and surface cracks expected with wood carvings of this age and size...
