Wood, with multiple superimposed polychrome pigments, meant to enhance the mask features, of which part is painted on paper glued to the mask. China, early 19th C. Height: 33 cm. An absolutely stunning large Chinese carving of a Buddhist Rakan (Arhat or Arahat), the emaciated figure wrapped in billowing robes with a hand scroll clutched in his bony right fist. The detail in the hairs around his face is incredible. The holy figure is chiseled from Ryuganki (dragons eye wood) and comes enclosed in a box dated 1922, likely the year it came to Japan, and is signed by the then owner...

Incredibly intricate and detailed Antique Chinese table carving made predominantly of zitan wood. Deeply carved with detailed dragons and clouds on one side, phoenixes on carved lattice on the back. Dramatic hexagonal shape on intricately carved stand. Some losses but overall great condition.

A very well carved and inscribed wooden tablet made for use in the family house, on the ancestor´s altar for worshipping of the deceased husband . This â€spirit tablet†has the name of the man, Chun Fa from Lin Prefecture , and the name of the donor, the respectful wife Niang, born Song. In the inside it says that Chun Fa was born in the cyclical year of XianFeng, eleventh month, ninth day =1850, lived forty two years and died in the cyclical year of Guangxu 1891...

Covered vase in nuanced ocher jade, decorated in relief with a grinding wheel with Taotie masks. Very good quality of sculpture. The stone is probably fire-patinated to imitate the color of archaic jade as was usually the case in the Ming Dynasty. It is impossible for me to date such an object. It is old, probably from the 18th century but could be earlier. Good condition, except for a few dents on the lid that can be seen on an enlarged photo. Height: 12cm.

Inkstone of rectangular shape, decorated in relief with an oval basin beside two dragons in clouds, in the style of Warring States period design. Light celadon jade. China, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Length: 9.2 cm. Tiny chips, otherwise very good condition.

Hand carved celadon green jadeite brush pot, bǐtǒng with incised and bas relief design of blossoming branches and on stump-like incised lines on bottom. Some lighter inclusions to body. Overall very good condition.

Hard stone cup, probably Jadeite. The more or less pale nuanced ocher colored stone is stained with a pretty green and veined with rust. The cut is very thin which required good control. Uneven grinding and a soft sheen suggest that this cut is ancient, difficult to date with certainty. Chinese work from the 19th century or before. Size:85x68x15mm Good condition.
