A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools...

It is 0.86 inch (2.2 cm) in internal diameter by 1 inch (2.7 cm) wide, and 1.2 inches (3 cm) in external diameter. It is 22.6 gram.

Such amulets have a long history in China and would have been worn as a mystical protector against all unseen evil and bad luck. A Chinese banded amethyst sculpture, shaped as an egg and carved with the head of an Immortal with large pendant ears . The carving is beautifully rendered and the unusual form makes it original and desirable. In very good condition, it measures 2 3/4 inches (7.25 cm ) long and dates from the Republican period.

1900' Chinese Chicken Bone Jade Carved Boy Toggle and Japanese Cloisonne Inro

The inro is 2.6 inches (6.5 cm) long by 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) wide by 0.82 inch (2.1 cm) thick. The toggle is 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) tall by 1.5 inches (3.85 cm) wide. It is 103 gram.

It has minor missing enamel, surface wears and scratches at the inro. The jade boy has inclusions, a chip and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

This is a pale celadon and russet jade plaque, dating to the Qing dynasty. The piece is entirely worked by hand, with no indication of modern/machine carving (or re-carving). It measures 2-1/2 inches in length and has been perforated lengthwise to permit it to be strung with a cord and worn. The reverse side has been carved with a series of symbols.
