Neolithic/Bronze Age reddish clay, pottery jar from an unknown culture. I acquired this in a group of Chinese Neolithic pottery pieces but I can’t find any references to this being Chinese. I tend to think this from Thailand or some other Southeast Asian culture. Low fired with very good near invisible restoration. If you know what this is, drop me a line and let me know. This figure is dating to the Ming dynasty around 1500 AD. and is very large!. It depicts a exceptionally scultured and detailed horseman - likely a soldier. He is seated on a horse. The soldier is fully glaced with a fantastic lively green jacket which looks like a sort of bodyarmor. The helmet, face and horse are decorated in different colours.

The soldiers are dressed in dark blue and turqouise glazed uniforms with harness and helmets. Each are carrying a weapon - an axe and a sword. They are placed on square plints. Helmets and boots in pigmented colors.
