18th Century Korean Silver Inlay Iron Tobacco Hexagon Shaped Box with Chinese Calligraphy

It is 2.7 inches (7 cm) tall by 5.1 inches (13 cm) wide. It is 1.6 Lb.

A very fine Ido chawan (tea bowl) dating from the middle of the Joseon period (1392-1897). Ido bowls, originally humble rice bowls from Korea, became the craze in Japan during the Momoyama period (1568-1600), when tea master Sen-no-Rikyu saw their perfection as vessels for the tea ceremony.

Korean Koryo Dynasty Celadon Stoneware Bowl (with riveted repair)

This stoneware bowl was made during the Koryo Dynasty (AD 918 - 1392). It is glazed all over in a thick finely-crackled celadon glaze. The inner surface has a “rippled” feeling which may be moulded decoration obscured by the thickness of the glaze, or simply uneven glaze. There are two areas of damage at the rim, both next to each other. One area has had a section broken out and re-stuck with an historical riveted repair...
