An unusual blue & white Korean shoulder vase of powerful form in the meiping style. Flowing figure of a senjin or female immortal in a high waist Korean dress. Flowers on the back of the vase. Excellent detail. Porcelain is fine and white. Light blue reminiscent of some Arita. Mark of Chinese emperor Kang H'si (mark found sometimes on both Japanese & Korean ware) in a double circle. The proportion of this vase and the dress point to Korean late Choson dynasty 18-19th century...
