A very fine and elegant Chinese octagonal lacquer and Pewter TEA CADDY, 19th Century, depicting various figures in a Palace Setting. Overall in good condition with minor inconsequential signs of use due to the considerable age. Size: L. 16 cm. (6 1/4").

A painting of a lovely young maiden, she is depicted from the waist up in the nude, her head slightly tilted and eyes looking off to the right. She wears her long black hair up in a low bun gathered at the nape of her neck. She is smiling slightly. Skillfully painted in oil colors on canvas with frame. Signed and dated by the artist. Circa 1920-30, Chinese gem quality six color banded agate of a scholar with dragon. Colors are grey, black, white, carnelian, blue and rare yellow hair. Just a fabulous and superbly worked piece. Carving measures just under 2.5" high, on stand measures 3" high.
