The top, also a lid, is decorated with a blue, green, and gold hexagonal turtle shell pattern and two blue dragons on body. It has three pieces, the body, a fitted lid, and an inset piece. Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Vase. Showa period, circa 1930-1950. The body of the vase is red with a pink chrysanthemum amongst white peonies with a green orchid. The red color, known as akasuke, is difficult to produce.
