An unused Chinese civil 5th rank silver pheasant (baixian) badge in original paper wrapping. Background is black silk with a border of bats and the “shou” character. Eight Buddhist symbols are featured with the endless knot having been created using the forbidden stitch. Made for the front of a woman's surcoat, this rank badge is in excellent condition, measures 12", and dates late 19th century.

Beautiful Northern Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest) with highly ornate white brass fittings incised with birds and flowers and auspicious symbols. The white brass plated mounts are cladded onto the front of the chest hinged to allow operation of the drop leaf door. The chest has two handles on the side for mobility and two handles on the front to aid in operation of the door.

Beautiful Original Antique Japanese sword tansu, made from Kuri (chestnut) Hardwood. Gorgeous original natural lacquer finish. The two longest drawers have Kiri leaf Mon (emblem) iron locks, with a smaller storage drawer beside them.

Japanese framed print by artist Tanaka Ryohei, born in 1933 in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. He has appeared in numerous art exhibits all over the world and his collections may be viewed in many museums such as the Cincinnati Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art San Francisco, and the Shanghai, China Museum. The medium used for this print are copperplate etching with aquatint. Titled "June", dated 1993, signed, and numbered 110/150 in its series in pencil.

A gorgeous Japanese framed silk hand-embroidered fukusa (gift-wrapping or tea ceremony cover), with the image of Jurojin, one of the Seven Lucky Gods. He holds his attributes, a staff and a fan. A crane, tortoise, and a deer accompany him, all of which are symbols for longevity. The detailing is very careful and breathtaking such as the glass eyes of the crane and deer. Meiji period (1868-1912)

A large Japanese framed print by renown artist Mayumi Oda, born 1941. Mayumi is most well known for her depictions of male Buddhist deities presented as women. This silkscreen print is titled "Daikoku", normally a male, the god of good luck and fortune. The title, number 22/40, and Mayumi's signature are done in pencil along the bottom margin. The print itself is tastefully framed behind special UV blocking glass. Circa 1984.

A realistically formed figure of a resting sheep. The sheep is the eighth Chinese zodiac sign. The hollow form has two glazes - an overall straw-colored clear glaze with a drizzle of amber glaze that drips over its left side. The glazes have now turned iridescent from age - the amber glaze has a golden sheen. Under magnification, the glaze has a very fine crackle which is consistent with pieces of this period.
