19th Century Chinese Root Wood Carved Fly Whisk

It is 7.5 inches (19 cm) long measured in stick only by 0.98 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It is 27 inches (68.58 cm) in length measured entirely.

It has a crack near the head of the handle, inclusions, and surface wears and scratches. The ferrule is loose and has breaks and loss. The tufts of fiber is shedding and brittle and has loss and breaks (as seen in the photos).

The teapot is 5.7 inches (14.6 cm) tall by 9.75 inches (25 cm) wide. The coffee pot is 7.8 inches (20 cm) tall by 8.2 inches (21 cm) wide. The creamer is 4.3 inches (11.1 cm) tall by 6.2 inches (15.9 cm) wide. The sugar bowl is 4.3 inches (11.1 cm) tall by 5.8 inches (14.9 cm) wide. The total weights is 1830 gram.

Ceramic "tenmoku" bowl of classical shape with thick rim and small base. Fine glazing of "hare fur" type, part of which has run down gracefully to the base. A rare detailed Votive Tablet showing Buddha in the "buhumisparsamudra" earth touching position surrounded by stupas with an inscription at the bottom of the Buddha. Age: Pagan Period 10th Century. Size: H. 17cm. W. 12cm.

An unused Chinese civil 5th rank silver pheasant (baixian) badge in original paper wrapping. Background is black silk with a border of bats and the “shou” character. Eight Buddhist symbols are featured with the endless knot having been created using the forbidden stitch. Made for the front of a woman's surcoat, this rank badge is in excellent condition, measures 12", and dates late 19th century.

Beautiful Northern Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest) with highly ornate white brass fittings incised with birds and flowers and auspicious symbols. The white brass plated mounts are cladded onto the front of the chest hinged to allow operation of the drop leaf door. The chest has two handles on the side for mobility and two handles on the front to aid in operation of the door.

Beautiful Original Antique Japanese sword tansu, made from Kuri (chestnut) Hardwood. Gorgeous original natural lacquer finish. The two longest drawers have Kiri leaf Mon (emblem) iron locks, with a smaller storage drawer beside them.

Antique Japanese single section Kiri (paulownia) wood tansu, all natural original finish. Very simplistic and functional design. All drawers have iron locks and Hirute style iron handles. Two small drawers in the bottom corner are perfect for storing small valuables.

Japanese framed print by artist Tanaka Ryohei, born in 1933 in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. He has appeared in numerous art exhibits all over the world and his collections may be viewed in many museums such as the Cincinnati Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art San Francisco, and the Shanghai, China Museum. The medium used for this print are copperplate etching with aquatint. Titled "June", dated 1993, signed, and numbered 110/150 in its series in pencil.

A pair of deeply carved Chinese cinnabar lacquer trays, with flower petal edges, the surfaces carved with foliate imagery such as peaches, pomegranates, citron, persimmon, and berries. Similar pieces can be seen from the 15th/16th century. Most likely this pair dates from the early 20th century.
