$450.00 Tea bowl of irregular shape. Deep dark brown clay covered in a greenish-gray glaze that leaves the bottom part of the bowl uncovered. The inside in the same tone with a brown patch. The rim covered with a brownish-green glaze. One looped line decoration in brownish green on the outside. A small patch at the inside of the bowl left uncovered. Karatsu ware, of the type ‘egaratsu’ (decorated Karatsu), Japan, Edo period, early 19th century.
H 2.75 inches, diameter 5 inches (6.9 x 12.6 cm). Pair of tall Chinese famille verte enamel tapered square form porcelain vases molded with relief decoration of the eighteen immortals among clouds set against a pierced ground. A rust-red 5-clawed dragon wraps around the neck of each. Circa 1900 to early 20th century. An apocryphal impressed zhuanshu 6-character Qing dynasty Kangxi square form reign mark is on the base. Sold A very rare Chinese jade of a stylized bird. The jade is translucent of a green and brown mottled coloration. Carved with a minimum of design giving an it a minimalistic, abstract look. It has large convex circles for eyes. The back has two interconnecting holes for passing a string through. The back has a naturally occurring hairline fissure of a dark reddish brown coloration. Has some calcification from long burial.
