P.O.R. Small shrine with a wooden sculpture of Jizo, standing with a jewel in one hand (which are missing), his staff (which is missing) in the other. Here he is represented as Danda Jizo, assisting those who are suffering in hell and saving small children from the wheel of rebirth. The paintings on the doors show naked children chased by demons in hell. Polychromed wood with delicate details. Metal madorla. Japan, late Edo period, around 1800.

Sold Set of three Japanese blue and white porcelain choko. Alternating panels of bamboo and flower decoration. Three friends of winter roundel inside cups. Patterned bands inside rim and above foot. Good condition with minor "flea bites" to rims. Each about 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm) high and about 3 3/8 inches (8.57 cm) diameter.

sold thank you This is Katsugi dyed with an indigo plant of the Edo era. This is made with high-quality hemp.
The whole is dyed in Katazome. The part of the hem is drawn in Tsutsukaki.
A rich family used Katsugi at the time of ceremonial occasion. This type of Katsugi was used in a part of Yamagata mainly. Jyofu-hemp Edo Katsugi often generally has heavy damage, but this item does not have damage at all.The width of Katazome is 13cm.
There are several places of a few thin stains.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - July 2018 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2018年7月 An "ogee" shaped porcelain bowl decorated with polychrome 'famille rose' enamels depicting two pheasants amongst flowering peony and pomegranate branches and below a band of alternating lotus flowers and the eight Buddhist emblems, the Bajixiang. The seal mark to the base reads "Zhong Hua Min Guo" (Republic of China), dating it to the period 1911-1949.
Condition: there are rim frits / chips and there is a light 1cm hairline to the rim ; no further damages and no restoration.

The grey ash glaze has been painted on the body with a straw brush as seen on Korean hakeme chawan. Dimensions: 3" length of each Chinese canton enamel box with slightly domed lid. The sides and top finely painted with scholars in landscape setting in famille rose palette. Already Sold Black Raku Chawan with wood box, both have the sign of the 12th. Kichizaemon Konyu ( 1857-1932 ). The lid back of the wood box bares the appraisal and of Sen Sosa XII 'Sesai' ( 1863 - 1937 ), who has been the 12th grand tea master of Omotesenke. We offer this tea bowl by order of a German collector. The chawan is in good condition with no repairs. There are two small inborn kiln cracks on the rim. Size: 3,4'' height x 5,1'' length x 5,1'' width. ...An extraordinary photo frame made of steel and decorated with flower heads and foliage in silver koftgari work, the surface covered with gilt lacquer. Condition: without glass, decoration with minimal wear and loss of lacquer. Dimension: 25.5 cm, 15.5 cm wide, weight: 364g.
