Korean Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) painted portrait of a seated scholar official executed in ink and color on paper. At the center of the robe is a rank badge holding a crane, indicating the gentleman is a civil official. The calligraphy states the bearded official is 41 years old. Vintage black silk woman's short jacket with playful shi-shi lions woven with gold and red lacquered threads. Though a formal jacket, this haori also looks great worn casually with a pair of slacks or jeans. In excellent condition, it dates late Showa.

China, 1600's late Ming Henan Black Ware Tribal Ocarina Wind Instrument Whistle. Of fig shape with rounded body and 8 holes on the front and back with an escape on the neck and glazed mouth piece, in the Song to Yuan style of earlier Henan black wares or changsha ware, though likely later in dating.
