Ch¨­sen Karatsu (³¯õrÌƽò) Chawan with a fantastic vivid glaze. It dates from the late Edo Period, no cracks, no repairs.

This traditional style was introduced by one or more potters brought from the Joseon Dynasty during the Japanese invasions of Korea. It features a black glaze placed under a white glaze which has been fired with straw. The two glazes run together and give a feeling of opposites.

Antique Japanese copper hanging lamp, Meiji period, 1868-1912. This is a beautiful lantern with panels decorated with peonies in a field of arabesques. Three smaller hanging blossoms hang off the top of the lantern. The lantern has two doors that open and are fastened shut with a decorated arm. The lower register is decorated with panels incised with a repeating wave design. The feet of the lantern are petal or leaf shaped, decorated with an incised arabesque design. Chinese Qing dynasty silk painted and embroidered panel finely rendered with a scene of an official and attendant on horseback passing traditional buildings set among clouds, rockery, and pine. Ink and color wash in "qing lu" (blue-green) colors provide accents and detail. The scene describes a Tang story of travelers heading to the 60th birthday celebration of a high official. A large footed Bizen slab by Isezaki Shin exhibited at the 13th Nihon Togei Ten in 1995 enclosed in the original signed wooden box and retaining the original exhibition labels. An iron mokogata form iron tsuba with surface and patina indicating significant age. A fantastic Chinese silver caddy of hexagonal shape, applied with a profusion of enameled birds perched on foliage and flowers, all against a filigree ground .
