Zentner Collection
SOLD Antique Chinese Jade carving of a rhinoceros. The coloration is primarily white with orange brown inclusions. It is carved in a relaxed stance with expressive features.
Dates from the 18th/19th century. Dimensions: 4.75" x 1.25" x 2.5" H

$700.00 The is a small stoutly made cloisonne teapot.The piece shows better and the enamels are more glossy than what is see here in the close-up enlarged images. The condition is good but there is some enamel damage on the lid that can be seen in the images and the bronze rim of the pot is flattened a bit. The piece is 3 1/2 inches tall and about 4 inches across at the spout. Like many of Namikawa Yasuyuki pieces. the ground color is black.
Seated on a lotus throne, guarded by two attendants. On the back of the stand there is an inscription : This is a statue (or carving) or Kwanyin, for Mr. Wang (??)'s wife, Mrs. Chao (??).
2nd day, 4th month Daoguang 10th year (1830 A.D.).
Condition: usual age wear, loss of gilding, the ribbon from the crown at the right side is missing. H. 23 cm.

**Sold** through our Liverpool shop** A bronze vase finely cast in archaic Chinese style with twin elephant head handles and very unusually decorated with 16th Century Turkish Iznik/ Kutahya style 'Saza' leaves in red, blue, green and black enamels. The Made in Japan mark to the base indicates that this item was made in Japan (for export) post 1890.
Condition: excellent - there are minor losses to the enamels but no damages and no repairs or restoration.

Early vintage albumen print of the two large bronze Kannons near the Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, with children. Numbered in Japanese "277". Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, left border of photo with a small loss. Dimension: photo: 21.4 cm x 27.4 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.9 cm.

*Sold* through our Liverpool Shop June 2018 A heavy six-sided porcelain deep bowl decorated on the outside with famille rose enamels depicting ladies and boys in a garden landscape. The base bears the six character seal mark ( painted in iron red) of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874).
Condition: there are enamel losses to the turquoise glazed interior: no losses to the famille rose enamels: no chips or cracks to the porcelain body and no restoration.

Rare and early vintage albumen print of the Shimbashi Railway Station in Tokyo, with festive decoration and banners wearing the imperial seal "kiku-mon". The Tokyo to Yokohama rail line opened on 14th October 1872, with a great ceremony as the emperor took the first official ride, arriving at Shimbashi Station in a Western carriage. Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, a tiny hole. Dimension: photo: 20.1 cm x 25.9 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.8 cm.

The age is written on the cover "Meiji 3 (1870), however the age of the fragments range from very late Edo (mid 19th century) to Taisho (1920s). sold, thank you! A modernist form in white decorated with a simple zen circle by Yoshikawa Masamichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Utsuwa (vessel) and dating circa 1985. The minimalist approach is a feature of this artists work, and accentuates the aesthetic Mono-no-aware (p an awareness of impermanence)and the circle on front seems to remind us “keep it simple”. It is 11 x 16 x 18 cm (4-1/4 x 6-1/2 x 7 inches) and in excellent condition.
